North Bama

We managed to spend time in three different cities this weekend.  First on the agenda, my parents' house in north Alabama.  Salvador and I hitched a ride with my dad who was in town for business on Friday morning.....

"Say you love me, dang it!! Woofie woofnow!"

     Home sweet home!
Like I've mentioned before, the only plant I can grow is a weed; however, my mother has two neon green thumbs.....

Home-grown maters.

Purple stuff.
Forrest had to work Friday but finally made it north just in time for dinner.....

"Whatcha make for me?  Woofiestarving!"

Chicken salad with almonds and grapes, three bean salad with lime juice and cilantro, and my mom's delicious home-made salsa.
After dinner, we still had enough daylight to show off for the ducks and hang out on the porch....

I imagine that duck was way more confused than Salvador.

My dad made that table.  I really like it.  It would look great on our patio. Hint hint :)

Feeding the birds; however, we never saw one probably because there was a furry fox running around.

Mom trying to steal a kiss from her granddog before bed.
Saturday morning was a super early one.  Before heading to Chattanooga, we had coffee and a view....

Thanks for a great visit mom and dad!  We miss you both already!

  5. Um wow...yes, I would say your mother has 2 neon green thumbs. Her yard is incredible.

I'm with you...I can't make anything grow. Not a thing. I find we're more alike every day.

Are you in Alabama too? I don't know if I've asked you that before.

    1. Hi Kristin! Thanks so much for stopping by! Most of the food under the "recipe" tab is vegetarian unless I give in to the husband's request and cook beef or shrimp. Let me know if you have an veggie head questions :) Have a great day and awesome meeting you too!

  8. GORGEOUS pictures! I love that part of the country - so lush and green and beautiful!

That table is so cool - your dad should start selling those (after he gives you one, of course).

We have a pomeranian, too! Salvador is so, so CUTE.

  9. So you had to hitch hike to your parent's house, huh? lol!

Sounds like you had a great trip! I'm jealous of your mom's neon green thumbs. I'm not sure what color my thumbs are, but like you, they are nowhere near green.

P.S. Do you have any good squash recipes? A friend from work has an amazing garden and keeps bringing me squash. I'm not sure what to do with it all... Suggestions?
